What is Magick? Article

I decided to make my sad attempt at a what is magick article, so here it is.

The term "magick" was coined by famous witch Aleister Crowley, to distinguish it from stage magic. According to him, magick is "the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will."

One of the sites I recommend the absolute most is http://www.spellsofmagic.com it is the best site of magick that I know so far, they are welcoming to noobies with great covens, and a great chatroom. Tho you seriously need to turn your bullshit detector on high, and watch the FLUFF. A definition of fluff is explained in this article.

"I can't wave a magick wand, and turn someone into a frog. But I can take raw energy, give it a task, and have it do that task by manipulating it." A basic explanation from a dear friend of mine, Nodrk.

Magick is something that you can easily seriously hurt, or kill yourself with, so I suggest any witch reading this make sure to consider that before attempting something such as a death spell. Which is of course something you will NEVER find on my site, however I also would like to say that You are responcible for your own actions. Both Inertia Psions, and it's affiliates take no responsibility for what you do.

I'd like to start off by giving a few definitions, then some FAQs.

Fluff- Is something that is completely impossible, and will never happen. It is usually posted by an idiot. An example of something Fluffy would be teleportation.

Troll- is someone who will purposely post spells on random sites because they either A) Don't believe in magick, and want to make fun of it, or B) Are mad cause their first vampyre spell didn't work.

Dabbler- is someone who is not devoted to the arts, and does not take the time to do proper research on magick, or the occult.

Here is a list of things that if you see on a website of magick, you should immediately LEAVE.

~Make sure that if you go on a forum, and someone is offering their teachings, that they seem intelligent, provide some up front information on their course. Are patent, provide a name, age, and how long they have been practicing, as well as a little history about themselves, etc. A quote from my friend TheHealer82 from spellsofmagic.com

"This site is filled with people who claim to be able to teach the younger members how to do things. We have a high amount of delusional kids running around thinking they are learning magick when instead they are learning junk. Some of us would like to prevent that, and if that means asking a person what they feel qualifies them to teach, so be it.

It's a very simple concept of put up or shut up...and seems to work."

~Death Spells. There are few working death spells in the world, and if you see a site suggesting that they have one, LEAVE.

~Mermaid, Vampyre, or other spells to turn you into mystical creatures are FLUFFY. If you see them on a site, other than a troll on someone's forums, I suggest you leave.

~Sites without any warning labels.

~Sites that provide, and suggest you use Black Magick.

~Spells that are anti-Christian, anti-satanism, etc. If it is a legit magick site, they will respect ALL religions.

FAQs:

What are some beginner spells that I can use?
First of all, I do not suggest doing any spells until you have "mastered" the basics. These include energy manipulation, colors, tools, moon phases, days, circle casting and the importance of protection. After you have studied these, then you should move on to beginner spells such as protection spells, and maybe even eye color change spells.

What's the deal behind white, black, and gray magick?
Supposedly white magick is good, and has positive karmic effects, black magick is bad, and has negative karmic effects, and gray magick is white magick turned bad because of an error in the casting. Well this is baloney. Magick has no color. And I could easily use a spell of "white" magick to do harm to another and end up getting the karmical end of the stick.

I've heard a lot of rap behind chi, ki, qi, and psi. What is all this about?
Well, I have heard many, many different opinions of this, but mine is the following. Chi/Ki/Qi are all different names for the same thing. I prefer to call it Chi. Chi is our own life force energy. Psi is basically another name for the physical manifestation of that energy. Chi is only chi if it is your own energy, otherwise it is simply energy. It's pretty much about using the right tool for the right job, according to Nodrk. You wouldn't use dynamite to take out one wall in your house would you? So you don't need to gather every last bit of energy for every spell, or construct. Focus on the task at hand, gather what you need, and release the extra.

That's all for today folks. If I find any other FAQs, I shall post them.
