of course it's a good idea but just don't forget about bad luck at all. you can't use good luck forever. heh

spells don't always tend to go the way you want "dude" so asking for luck may bring bad and even asking for too much good luck is very selfish and can have bad side effects. for example you ask for good luck and something lucky happens but that event could lead to something bad even with all the good luck you put on yourself. every spell can have serious consequences.

What about spells cast on the self for betterment? Such as a morbidly obese person casting a weight loss spell instead of having lyposuction? Do even these spells have negative side effects, even when cast correctly? Or do you just mean it is possible to have too much of a good thing?

well your with your example of an obese person casting a weight loss spell, the spell would effect his eating and they wouldnt just lose weight without helping it along so with some spells you could become dependant on them, most spells can just be unreliable. and any spell can have negative side effects but not all ways..... feels hard to explain very well.

So if you only cast such a spell once, and did it right/obeyed all known ways to incerease success, would there still be negatives?

Remember. Every action has an equal reaction. SO if you use a spell, after it is done a negative might come. Like a luck spell thats lasts for a day, the next day bad luck. Remember don't have to much of a good thing
