The point of meditation is to not think of anything, you want to cler your mind of all the problems or cares you may have.
Like the meditation that JK mentioned where you literally see your problems being put in a can,or one of the others her,
The point is to focus on somthing, and jus let your mind go.
Dont be afraid to not think of anything.
If you cant do it ith your eyes closed, try useing a candle ad stareing at the flame. Its a good way to start.
If you can do it with your eyes closed, thats fine, just set a goal for yourself......maybe 5 minutes at first, and try to not think of anything for that time,as thoughts come in,push them out,the heartsong meditation in our spell book works well with some people with very active minds, because it gives you things to do,such as tightening up and relaxing ,to relieve stress.
Whatever technique you use,the keys are to relax, set a reasonale goal for yourself(time wise),and dont feel any pressure to get results,,,they will come in time

Nodrk and I just had like, a half hour debate on this lol.
We have a differ of opinion on meditation.
My method is more for an over active mind, as that is what I have to deal with in my skull. The method of thinking of one thing is a starting goal to teach your mind to calm down. Once you can teach it to calm down, you can teach it to not think of anything, even if for a short while.
If you don't have an over active mind, you should be striving for the relaxation that comes with no thoughts.
This is the conclusion we came to after butting horns for a while lol
OOH I GOT ANOTHER QUESTION! ok when you meditate, what does energy feel like?

It's different for each person, but it's definatly recognizable. It can be pulsating, swirling, tingling, warm, calming, sometimes it can even be painful.
