Meditation

You've seen it said a lot in the forums. Meditate for this, meditate for that. I won't lie...it can be boring and difficult for some, but it is a valuable thing to learn if you ever want to cast a spell and have it work.

Meditation is more than clearing your mind of any thought and sitting there in a vegatible like state. Unless you are planning to become a buddhist monk, you do not need to accomplish this. If you can, great! But trust me, it is not a requirement, though some of the methods we provide here may touch on that. That is why we have a variety of them, to help you find the one that works for you.

During meditation, you will learn to relax your body and mind. You will be able to focus on one thing. Be it a question, and emotions, whatever it is, it is you object of focus.

Once you get a hand of simple mediation techniques, you will learn to focus your energy...and THAT is what spell casting, magick, psi and everything else is about. None of it can be done without proper focusing of your energy.

That is why meditation is the first step, and a very very important one.

Nodrk will post some techniques for you here, and we'll go from there. Don't forget...ask questions!

if you dont mind i would like to post some techniques i have found very useful.

the first is that you visualize a garbage can and imagine putting all the feelings you had for the day in it and leave only the good emotions then you visualize the clear sky and soon youll be in a meditative state.

also another that i personally favor is that you concentrate on your breathing, inhales, exhales, ect. and get lost in the breathing and slowly drift off into an empty part of yourself where you feel calm and relaxed

hope this helps!

thos asre good techniques to use,Ive taught the first one many times myself. The biggest missconception with medittion is that you have to be able to get lost for hrs at a time. Its not possible for most people to start and meditate for an hr at first. If your one of the few that can, thats great.
If not set reaslistic goals.start with a couple of minutes of real clarity, and work forward. In time youll be able to meitate longer and longer. The main thing is that you really be relaxed and focused, for what ever time you try. Then when you can focus,as Healer said, you'll have the basics fr spel castng, and Magick.Ill add other techniques also.

When I meditate, I try to stay focused on my breathing and for a long time was very successful in doing that, but of late I can't seem to concentrate and my thoughts wander. hat can i d to stop this? Nothing is really wrong in my life at the moment, but my concentration seems to be lacking.

Wandering thoughts is a normal thing. My mind is constantly racing lol

When you meditate, try picking one word. For example, in your head say "energy". Focus on just that word..you can even picture that word. If your mind wanders, just bring it back and keep practicing. It'll come back to you once your brain is done wandering.

And since I wasn't completely happy with my own response, I'll continue a bit more on it.

I have a pretty unique situation that makes meditation a down right chore. When I start, I need to hear a thought in my head. While hearing that thought, my mind is then able to create 2-3 seperate situations showing themselvs simotaniously (sp) in my minds eye. On top of that, my higher self likes to escape and go play around so I am able to see that as well.

Trust me when I say I understand meditation can be difficult sometimes lol.
What I do to keep my mind focused is to hear a word in my head..anyword. Such as Black. Then I bring my higher self back to me so it's not off astrally playing around or release it entirely so it can play without me having to watch it. Then I have to take each picture and use a sort of psychic pain brush to paint it black.

My mind will still wander. Even if nothing is stressing me out, there is so much information being taken in each day that it's going to want to work it out. I suggest vegging out before meditation. Getting lost in the beat of music. Google Shaman Drum's or Meditative music on youtube and use it as a backround noise to focus on and lose yourself in ( you may also have visions from this ).

If it doesn't work, try again another time or later. You've done it once..you'll be able to do it again ;)
