-smudge stick
-censer with Hekate incense

The Ritual
A bell is run at each Quarter, and this is said:
Priestess: Hekas, hekas! Este bebeloi!
Other: Be ye far, all ye profane!
Light the tapers. Sprinkle sea salt in the khernips water, and say:
Priestess: May this purifying water be blessed by the Gods.
Light a stick or match from one of the tapers, plunge it the khernips water, and lay the stick aside. Dip your hands or fingers in the consecrated water and then dry your hands.
Priestess: Let all that is profane be gone from here.
Light the incense, and say:
Priestess: We are here to honor and make offerings to Hekate.
Place the offering bowl on the altar (or have the bowl already in place). Cast the flax seeds and hazelnuts (or other offerings) on the altar, and say:
Priestess: Greetings and praise to Hekate.
Everyone: Hekate, Hekate, Hekate
Priestess: I call upon you, Hekate, Great Goddess, by this or by whatever names are pleasing to you, to come to us and to accept this offering...Praise be to you ,Great Hekate...Great and primeval Goddess...You have power in the heavens, sea, and earth, and in the underworld beyond death...You give victory and success, wealth and prosperity, and wellness of being...Goddess of the moon and the night...Goddess of the crossroads and the turning path...Goddess of the key that opens the way...Triple Goddess, crowned with oak leaves and robed in saffron...Bright Hekate, may your flaming torches light the path and may your key open the door.
Everyone: Hekate, hear our prayer
Priestess: Hekate, take delight in this ritual....Hekate, accept our offering.
Everyone: An offering to Hekate.
Each person tears the bread and cheese into pieces and places them in the offering bowl, while saying:
Everyone: To Hekate, I make an offering. May you be pleased with this offering, Hekate, and may you look with favor upon those who make the offering.
Each person pours wine and water into the libation cup, and says:
Everyone: To Hekate I pour a libation of wine and water. May you be pleased with this offering, Hekate.
Pour some of the mixed wine and water from the cup into the offering bowl.
Prietess: To Hekate.
Take a sip from the cup.
Everyone: A libation to Hekate.
Pour the rest of the cup into the offering bowl.
At this point, take the paper that you have written down about what you are at a crossroads at, and what you need assistance and guidance in. Throw these into the fire, with a bit of salt peter, saying:
Everyone: Hekate, Hekate, be my guide. Bring peace and knowledge in my reverence of You tonight.
When everyone is done....
Priestess: Praise and thanksgiving to Hekate. These rites are ended. So be it.
Let the candles burn, and leave the offerings on the altar for a time, at least for an hour or so. When it is time to dispose of the offerings, pour any liquids down a clean kitchen sink and rinse the sink afterward. Solid material can be wrapped in a plastic bag or paper towels and placed in the trash. Do not loosely mix the offerings with regular trash. If practical, the offerings could be disposed of somewhere outside in an out of the way location where they would be naturally absorbed into the earth.
I have a friend who often called upon Hekate but she claimed that Hekate would also show herself , she also said that never to call upon her unless you know what your doing .
I realize that Hekate is your matron , but what I am saying is for others who are inexperienced should not call upon her with out someone who has done this before . I am sure you know this .
I have this article sitting on my drive and forgot where I saved it from. Now, I'm posting it here to see if anyone would like to share their own opinions or personal experience?
Watchtowers
It is difficult to say what the Watchtowers are, though they are generally regarded as the guardians of the magical, spiritual, and elemental forces of their respective Quarters. They may also be known as Watchtowers, Watchers (not Grigori, however), Guardians, or Quarters, and are thought to guard the portals that link the mortal world and higher planes. Some occult traditions hold that they are the same as order of beings as the Grigori, the Angels that fell to Earth and spawned the Nephilim. This is unlikely, however, since the Grigori were imprisoned by the Archangels thousands of years ago (see Grigori and Nephilim). A much more likely case is that the Watchtowers and Archangels are either of the same class of angelic being, or are in fact the very same beings. Like the Archangels, the Watchtowers are concerned with guarding magicians from evil spirits, banishing demons, and enhancing the power of spells. Each is ascribed a cardinal point (North, East, South, or West), one of the four elements, and various other consistent attributes.
Whatever the case, the Watchtower are extremely powerful entities -- indeed, they are like unto gods. Calling them attracts their attention, and they are typically invoked when working spells (as the Archangels are called when working High Magic). The Watchtowers will protect the magic circle from any malicious spirits or negative energies attracted by working magic, and may help to direct the flow of positive magic as well. Some also believe they are also the Lords of Karma all will stop evil magic from being worked, or bring punishment upon those who work evil magic, but there is no actual evidence for this. They may be more "neutral" than some expect, or, like all pagan deities, possess both attributes both Light and Dark in their character.
In magic calling the Watchtowers is analogous to calling the Archangels. In fact, the Archangels and Watchtowers are so similar they may be considered the same beings. Like the Archangels, the Watchtowers are concerned with guarding magicians from evil spirits, banishing demons, and enhancing the power of spells. Each is ascribed a cardinal point (North, East, South, or West), one of the four elements, and various other consistent attributes. In both cases they are considered to be the highest and most powerful of spirits, second only to the gods (that is to say, higher orders of Divine Principles). Since the Watchtowers do not themselves have names, aside from North, East, South, and West, they may be called by their respective Archangelic names.
The Watchtower of the East is associated with the Element of Air, the Archangel Raphael, the East Wind "Eurus", the season of spring, and the star Aldebaran.
The Watchtower of the South is associated with the Element of Fire, the Archangel Michael, the South Wind "Notus", the season of summer, and the star Regulus.
The Watchtower of the West is associated with the Element of Water, the Archangel Gabriel, the West Wind "Zephyrus", the season of autumn, and the star Antares.
The Watchtower of the North is associated with the Element of Earth, the Archangel Uriel, the North Wind "Boreas", the season of winter, and the star Fomalhaut.
Pan: Ah, okay. I was a little drugged yesterday, so I was confused. And yes, I agree totally. Working with Hekate is a difficult thing to do....evoking Her can be risky if She doesn't want anything to do with you.
I know what the watchtowers are. Lol I was thinking of a joke that involved them.
I think it was. Tho should not call the watchtowers only to say never mind. Tho that was a fascinatuing tidbit for the noobs that vist this site.
And I think it pays trubiute to the hekate. Which nothing is wrong with that.better safe than sorry
that is what I am afraid of , the newbies and teens that really do not understand or comprehend what they are doing , and please I am not by any means calling anyone stupid , there are forces that if you do not understand it could get you in to trouble . I just prefer everyone to be safe , there is an online school , www.witchschool.com , teaches correlian magic and i think its good because it starts from the begining and teaches everything you need to know, also has mentors that you can chat with if you do not fully understand things . I believe that its a 3 year course .
