Sounds like a nature spirit that's either dark or neutral.

Could be a folletto of some sort (there is a huge variety). Perhaps a brownie, or if it has hooves, a korred.

The best thing to do is offer it something like honey. Nothing I would worry about.

It could be a spirit, but thats not what I'm used to.

Yes, they are usually just called 'shadows', but you could try corporeal shadow, shadow creature, shadow animal, or shadow person.

Personally, I think it has to much character and detail to be a shadow (thoughtform formed from accumulated negative energy). Shadows I've seen were purely black, like a 3D black mass that is shaped as an animal, person, or creature. Your description of the hair, teeth, and altering colored eyes, makes me think its a genuine spirit, not a thoughtform. Its size is definitely fitting to the little people. They aren't all pretty, and many can shapeshift into whatever they want. Many housedwelling ones like to hide/reside in dark corners or behind furniture.

I believe he's testing to see how you will respond to knowing he's there. He has probably been there for a while. Many house dwelling nature spirits like to have close relationships with the resident(s). They can be great allies or your worst enemy depending on how you treat them. When you're nice to them, they're known to bring luck and added protection to a home.

In Norse belief such beings are called land weights and elves. Italians call them filetti Every culture uses a different name.

This is all really interesting.

Is there anyway that I could possibly communicate with it, with out offending it?

And is it possible that these creatures could be causing sickness or negative attitudes with the residence of the household? Causing the person to act out rudely in a manner that they should not?

Did you notice how it left? This could tell you for sure if it's a spirit like whiterav3n says or an animal like I think. If it darted out very quickly or seemingly got absorbed by the wall/floor, it was an animal. If it just disappeared or did something that seems impossible, it was a spirit.

If I'm right, it could make one feel sick and angry. Try reaching out to it when your in a good mood. If you see it again, treat it like a bird. Don't get too close or make sudden movements. If you get a very pleasant feeling, that's its way of saying 'go ahead'. Now you may approach it.

In all honesty I have no idea how it disappeared because I didn't stare at it long enough. I stared just long enough to get some features and then I looked away because it kind of freaked me out, then I looked back a moment later and it was gone. But I will admit I did hear scuffling sounds, so I'm guessing it could not be a Spirit, right?

But the next time I see it, I will definitely try to communicate, because I would to love to understand it's purpose as of now. Especially, since I've seen once in my room, then seen it again in a dream.

i think i know what it is about a year ago i was woken up by a growling noise so i texted my friend "who is also a psychic" and he knew what it was. There are two types of these beast spirits a black and a white one. They are kind of like yin and yang. about an hour later my friend saw the white one and it folowed him home and stayed with him for about 4 months and then randomly left. i dont know too much about them but im guessing that is what u saw.

With spirits is hard to say what exactly they are or what kind by simply having a glance on them .Many of them can shapeshift and you actually may just have seen one of their forms .
On other hand even if you communicate with them that does not mean they will tell you the truth or let you know their agenda .
Dealing with spirits is often tricky and not so easy work ,many of them are tricksters and they simply like to challenge you for the heck of it .
I would not think so it is the jolly type judging by the colours it chose to depict itself or show itself to you .

Living in a "haunted" house, i can tell you spirits do make noise when they choose to. but i agree, comunication is best

@ Artindark: The colors of the creature is the reason I am weary of doing this. And I understand that it could be quite tricky to handle such creatures. But the thing is, we have done countless protection spells in the house this year, due to other problems that needed to be sorted out, and I just have the feeling that it is still here.

@ ladykaitlin: My Mum has told me that there is something special about me. That attract things though I don't seem to notice it, and I can repel things with just my presence. I have even had dreams about me seeing things that my friends have done in the past and never told me about. Yet when I questioned them, it was all true. That is why I am ready to take this risk, because I would like to know how far my abilities can go, and what is the purpose for them.
