Re: Prayer beads of all types By: Trinitarian3 / Beginner
Post # 2 Jul 24, 2019
I made my own some time ago, but instead of honoring Mary, I made it into a devotional for St. Brigid/Brighid. It's made of a cord with Hemitite, Carnelian, and Amazonite, and has a rosary connector with a bear claw charm at the end.
It starts just above the Hemitite, on the way to the Amazonite, with 19 knots before reaching the stone. These have the prayer "Hail Brigid, Healer of the sick and injured,Hear my prayer, Heal my spirit." I say it a final time at the Amazonite and then head on to the Carnelian.
Then the prayer is "Hail Brigid, Keeper of the Flame, keeper of knowledge and wisdom, Hear my prayer, Enlighten my Spirit."
After that, it goes to the Hemitite, with the prayer "Hail Brigid, Lady of the Forge, Blacksmith to the weak and feeble, Hear my prayer, Strengthen my spirit."
Then I go to the Rosary Connector with Mary on it (Brigid is Mary of the Gaels) and invoke her with "Hail Brigid, Lady of the Mantel, hear my prayer. I ask for ..." and list my intentions there. Then I meditate on the bear claw, which is one of her symbols.
Hail Mary is the primary prayer for the decade beads on a "standard" rosary. The single bead between decades is the 'Our Father' bead, and the prayer "Our Father who art in heaven... etc." you would also have the Nicen Creed, or the Apostles Creed, and a couple of others for normal catholic rosary. The 'Wiccan' Rosary I created is dedicated to the trinity, substituting one aspect of the trinity for the "mysteries" and praying to each of the three in turn.
Here's the prayer pattern:
Cross - Starting
Call for Blessing
Creed
Invitatory
Lone Bead - I Bow Down
Each of three Praise to the Trinity
Lone Bead - I Bow Down
Medal - Prayer to the Supernal Parents
Lone Bead - I Bow Down
Announce dedication to The Father of the first week
Each of the Seven The Father
Lone Bead - I Bow Down
Announce dedication to The Son of the second week
Each of the Seven The Son
Lone Bead - I Bow Down
Announce dedication to The Lady of the third week
Each of the Seven Divine Mother
Lone Bead - I Bow Down
Medal Glory Be
(Loop around here for multiple rounds)
Lone Bead - I Bow Down
Each of three - Praise to the Trinity
Lone Bead - I Bow Down
Cross Closing
Doxology
Release of Light
The Invitatory
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sights. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Shekinah.
I Bow Down
I bow before the Father who made me,
I bow before the Son who saved me,
I bow before the Divine Mother who guides me,
In love and adoration.
I praise the Name of those on high.
I bow before the Sacred Three,
The All-in-One, the Trinity.
I place my life in thy hands.
Praise to the Trinity
Praise to Thee, Blessed Trinity, to Thee be glory and thanksgiving throughout the æons.
A Prayer to the Supernal Parents
All-powerful Lord, Our Father;
All-wise Holy Spirit, Our Mother;
Supernal parents of all that was, and is, and is to come;
Sustain us, your children this day.
Give us the wisdom to see your path,
And the strength to prevail in our darkest hour.
We thank you for the joys we have,
And for your grace bestowed on us
This day and every day.
May we thrive and grow in knowledge, wisdom and understanding.
Now and forevermore. Amen.
The Father
Our Father in Heaven, Creator and Judge, Have mercy on me, share with me your blessing.
The Son
Jesus, lamb of God and bearer of our sins, have mercy on me, share with me your blessing.
The Divine Mother
Divine Mother, Our Lady, Queen of Heaven, have mercy on me, share with me your blessing.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Devine Mother. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, throughout the Aeons.
Doxology
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God for all that love has done;
Creator, Christ, and Spirit, One.
it looks complicated, but in truth, it's less so that a normal catholic rosary, though they would use the same prayer on 50 out of 59 beads, but on others, have 2 different prayers on one bead. With my 30 bead abbreviated 'rosary' it addresses more than just Mary. As I said on the other thread, I'm not sure where I got all of these prayers, some of them possibly from this site, but I have slightly modified a lot of them from their original. I hope some of you may find this useful.
CWater1: I would be very happy to assist you in ant way I can, choosing colors, beads, metals etc... And I'd be happy to make it for you for the cost of materials, if you don't wish to craft it yourself.
I live in the uk so it'd be costly, I couldnt do it to you, but please point me in the direction of a accurate guide or something like that. I could also sneakily find a catholic roasery of course but yeah. lol.
Shipping overseas isn't that bad,....hahaha yeah, but anyway, I'm not sure of uk suppliers, but if you google rosary parts, you should be able to find something. Now if you're wondering about stones, there are many, many sites that can help you find a stone that resonates to your spirit. Once you have a stone, or group of stones, (you can make each bead in a decade or "weak" a different stone if you want, what matters is how it fulfills your spirit, not what it looks like) find a decent lapidary supply or craft store that carries genuine gemstone beads. I pondered and prayed about the design of my new one for several days before I began working on it. I know Amazon US, and probably Amazon UK as well, has a very nice cross with a pentacle at the crossbars to show a Christian-wiccan affiliation. I have a couple of center pieces that I would happily send to you if you would like them one is an angel, it's fairly large at about (roughly guessing here) 3/4 inch high and wide. The second is an open heart close to the same size. since these would mail fine in an envelope, I would be happy to send one of each to you, if you're interested. Feel fee to respond to my private e-mail if you wish.
