Thoughts on Mediumship

I am wondering others thoughts on a few things.

Do you consider it mediumship only if it is communicating with passed human spirits?

You see in my tradition it is considered mediumship to be able to communicate with spirits, whether they had previously lived or had never incarnated at all.

This includes passed humans, and non human entities.

Communicating with or reading the energy of living individuals is more considered psychism. I often find to receive imagery when reading living auric fields.

Than there is simply communicating with the world of spirit, seemingly imagery of historical value that seems not to come from any one spirit, but rather from a collective. Almost universally stored information.

Finally I have had experiences, where I am receiving information about a former living person but the information is not coming directly from the passed person, but either from the world of spirit in general, or at times a non humanoid entity.

Any thoughts on this? Your own experiences?

Are some examples here mediumship in your view or is it your belief that true mediumship comes only from communicating from those living and passed?

This is a bit of a grey area for me. Mediumship is such a large umbrella term that it's a bit difficult to classify into one category. I'm not partial to the term mediumship, this is mostly due to the fact that there are many people who claim to be mediums that intentionally deceive people for money. The terms of being psychic is rather another broad term. It can be someone who simply picks up rather easier on the world we're a part of or it can be linked too with mediumship.

In my personal experience, giving a term to something that is so large and so adverse isn't needed. Although, I can understand how though that it is easier for a label to be added to give it an easier understanding. I believe be you believe they are the same thing or not, that as long as you're comfortable in whichever you prefer, it doesn't matter so much what title you give it.

I hope this made some sense.

I completely agree with Daena. Mediumship is something you're either born with or develop throughout your path. There are people out there who deceive others for money simply because they can read tarot cards (which is easy to do).

Mediumship can help in reading tarot cards, but, deceiving others for money claiming you're a medium using your tarot cards is just plain ugly.

Communicating with spirits can be developed, with years of experience. But most people who can truly communicate with spirits are born with that gift, the gift of mediumship.
