Lignite

I'm working my way through spells in a book of icelandic sigil magic, and several spells call for Lignite, a soft brown form of compressed peat sedimentary coal. Do any of you have a source for non-crystal mineral spell ingredients, or know anything about using this material in spellwork?

It's a semi precious Jem stone. It can be used for healing and protection. It's helpful for psychic connections and meditation. I have Rune stones made out of it. It's been noted to help with morning of a loved one, but my knowledge of it's use in that is limited.
