A few nights ago i had a dream that worried me a bit. It started off that i was in bed and i heard a tapping on my window, i got up to see what it was and it was like the glass just faded away. It was raining heavily and i was completly saturated. It turn's out the tapping came from an old woman at my window. She was completly dry and had snow white hair with pink lips. She seemed panicked and was telling me to be careful. She then quoted a date 21/12/2012... i woke up a couple of moments later. Anyway i typed in the date on google and was shocked to find that it was an old Mayan Prophecy. Now many people predict it to be the end of the world ect ect, but others speak of an awakening. I'm not really sure and would greatly appreciate some other views on the topic.

Both of these sites hold very different oppinions on the topic.
I think i lean more towards Michael Sharp's idea personally.
My dreams are usually correct with things like this though so i am still confused slightly.
By end of the world, the Mayans meant end of the world AS WE KNOW IT. Think of it as an end of this age, and the beginning of the new one, ie: current system falls, new one rises. Nothing to worry about...something to look forward to really, if this current "world" system falls.

None of us know when the world will end infact we don't know much about the Earth or the universe itself so the best thing to do is to just try to respect the Earth and love her.
give and take at the same time rather, push and pull releases more energy in both directiosn than only one, this is a way to speed up the healing process of earth, cause as you release it floods into you and you flood into it. 2012 is the end of one thing and the beginning of another, by the time the earth dies humans will be long extinct, and between them and now we will still go through quite a couple of cycles like we will be entering into, it is a time of death-death of ignorance, death of the wrongs ways, and a time for rebirth-rebirth of the olds ways, the primal ancient ways of living free from the ego which holds us prisoner in this life rebirth of the soul to it's fullest a truest glory. Personally i can't wait for 2012, and even if by some fluke chance the world does go boom i have enjoyed this life and needed what i needed to do, so then it's just the afterlife for me, nothing ever ends, just moves to a different cycle..
The Myan calendar ends in 2012. The Myans were a very advanced civilization. They have ultimately mapped out the entire universe, our solar system included, planets and all, the EXACT mesurements between us and each and every planet in our solar system and then some. They also predicted every lunar eclipse that is and has happened. So far the only inconsistency in the Mayns mesurements and maps is that their timing is out by about 33 or 35 seconds when it comes to the lunar cycles, not entirely sure because its been a while since I studied it.
The Myans said that on december 21st 2012, the sun will rise from the dark rift at the centre of the milky way, the dark rift they call 'the cosmic mother'. There is actually a black hole in the centre of our milky way though. The Myans are correct that on 21st december, the earth will be in exact alignment with the centre of the milky way and the sun. It only happens once every twenty-five thousand, eight-hundred years, everyone is unsure of what effect it will have on earth but some theorise a pole shift. It's where the entire mantle of the earth would shift completely in days or weeks or months or even hours, the result of the pole shift is that the position of the north and south pole would completely change direction.
The pole shift is said to cause worldwide disaster. Some think that the pole shift has already happend and the north and south pole were once in the centre of the equator. Some reckon that the pole shift was the cause of the mass extinction of the dinorsaurs.
Personally, I think that the Myans were an amazing civilisation and yet they still did NOT believe that the world would actually end. Not entirely, I mean, they didn't say that THE WORLD WILL COMPLETELY END. I think for them, 21st december 2012 means a new start, a new calendar and a new cycle of the universe, yes it means the end of the myan calendar, mainly because they couldn't predict what kind of effect it would have on them. I doubt that it would be the end of the world. Myans were all about beginings and I see their calendars end as a new begining. Imagine, in 2012 we will look to the sky and see an amzing thing that NOBODY in our time here has been able to comprehend or study. We are fortunate for this, it is an amazing thing to witness and we are gonna be here to witness it.
