Well, I cannot find anything directly mentioning orchid's drawing blood. But given the pieces of what happened, here's what I could come up with.

The orchid is typically used to represent love, specifically passion and enchantment. Blood is life force. The moon was a little over half full on that night, waxing gibbous. Thi is a time period for adjustment and fine tuning what you are working on.

Now, it is entirely likely that this was just coincidence and means nothing. If it was a message from the universe, it seems to be indicating the need to adjust something in a close relationship of yours. On the outside, it could be indicating it is time to have a baby, but I hesitate to state that as a fact since I am not sure what's going on exactly in your life.
