Any DIY curse removal?

Hi, I'm new. I have a curse on my family and may be cursed by my family as well. I do not know how to remove a curse that is older than I am, but I read the Psychic self defense article and need to practice visualization first, (I am no longer good at it).
I have created some chants and such, but is this a good start? And my real question is; will it help? I also want to make sure I don't give the curse any power by my words or actions.

Hoodoo oils,powders,petition papers
Psalm reading etc..Use stong Focus
I use a lot of holy water too.
