Hi, first off I am soo excited to learn and grow from this coven. Secondly I'm wondering does anyone of an extensive knowledge of Hoodoo and could tutor me in it. When I first read a little about Hoodoo it felt more appealing to me,more then any other form of magick out there...kinda like it was my calling. Please contact me if you know the history behind Hoodoo and gods, and goddess and so forth. Oh, and I have one really good Hoodoo magick book of spells called "Utterly Wicked: Curses, Hexes and Unsavory Notions" by Dorothy Morrison...not for the squeamish. Anyways please contact me.

Ok to add to this psot....I have read more into Hoodoo and interestingly enough it is extremely bible based! I find that interesting just because in Christianity, it is a sin to practice magick, where as in this practice you pretty much get the best of both worlds...very interesting. Tell me what you guys think...

The thing with Voodoo and Hoodoo as with most magicks is that it is a melding pot of different faiths and practices, because slaves brought over from Africa were no longer allowed to practice their native faiths they adopted the Christian religion and made it work with their own beliefs along with native american pracitces and european etc. That it is why the common held belief with the practice is "Voodoo doesnt exclude it includes"

A BIBLE LESSON. For Willa about the god hating witchcraft.

9*When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

10*There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.

11*Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

12*For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

Thats a scripter from Deuteronomy.

Hmmmm....I'm glad you posted that DarkBarron, because I find this so interesting that, people actually mix the two together (magick and biblical uses). Granted, its been done for centuries but due to this, I'm wondering for myself, if Hoodoo is the best magick practice for me. I think it also would be wiser if I start to study Voodoo much more...
