Joyful Solstice Wishes

Long ago in agricultural societies the Winter Solstice was a time for great celebration. The darkest longest night of the year had come and in the morning as the sun rose everybody knew that the days would lengthen, warm and draw out to the easier abundant days of spring and summer.

Today we have little to fear from the darkness, tucked up cozily within our homes enjoying the warmth and comfort of modern convenience and plenty.

Let us then allow the strength and import of the season to resonate spiritually and magically within our lives! The darkest time will be over. Embrace the New Year, a New Moon (on the 27th) and the lengthening of the days to inspire hope and opportunity in your hearts.
Breathe Deeply of the New Dawn!
The Sun Child is Reborn!
The Angel of Sun,
She who cometh each morning
As a bride from her chamber,
To shed her golden light on the world.
O thou immortal, shining, swift-steeded
Angel of the Sun!
There is no warmth without thee,
No fire without thee,
No life without thee.
As green leaves of the trees
Do worship thee,
And through thee is the tiny wheat kernel
Become a river of golden grass,
Moving with the wind.
Through thee is opened the flower
In the center of my body.
Tnerefore will I never hide myself
From thee.
Angel of Sun,
Holy messenger of the Earthly Mother,
Enter the holy temple within me
And give me the Fire of Life!
