Hello, I have done tons of research regarding Hellenismos, Hellenic Polytheism in general and more mythologies. I understand most of the basics like piety, the delphic maxim, khernips, etc. Now, I'm very confused with the Noumenia and the monthly festivals.
Any thoughts on celebrating them? Do you strictly follow all of them or?
The funny thing about Hellenic holidays, is that, they aren't mandatory. One thing I've noticed is: while it's awesome and spiritually fascinating to celebrate Hellenic holidays, the Gods don't mind whether you celebrate them or not. If you don't celebrate them, you can still become close to the Gods in your own way. Our own experiences are called UPG: Universal Personal Gnosis. I've looked over yearly calendars for holidays, rituals, and celebrations, and it's too confusing. So I never got into the groove of it. It's more of a person choice rather than a "you have to do it or the Greek Gods won't like you at all" sort of thing.
Thanks! It put me down when I see many people able to keep up with the calendar and festivals haha
I'm guessing it's alright to design your own in the Gregorian calendar like certain date for certain deities?
If you feel like you need to, feel free to! :) It would be complicated, but that's coming from someone who likes to keep it simple (let me give you a hint, it's me). It is entirely /your/ path, and it is entirely your choice what you make of it.
If you have any more questions about the Greek pantheon, feel free to mail me. I'm into the whole Greek pantheon. It's kind of my thing. My inbox is always open.
There's also Hellenistic Polytheism: Household Worship Volume 1. It's more towards the Greek deities, also in a more modern worship if that's what you're looking for. There are several books on how to follow the Greek path.
Thabks and yeah, I already got the basic books ^^ Still trying to get the Household Worship Volume 1 tho.
It's hard to find paganism and polytheism books here in my country :c
