Numerology Basics

Designing a Devoted name with magick numbers. You may need a scratch paper and writing utensil.

1 = A, J, S

2 = B, K, T

3 = C, L, U

4 = D, M, V

5 = E, N, W

6 = F, O, X

7 = G, P, Y

8 = H, Q, Z

9 = I, R

Take each letter of your name and transform it into the numeric value listed in the chart above. For example, if my name were Bob, I would find the letter B in the chart, and list 2 in place of B, and so on.

B = 2, O = 6, B = 2

Add together each of the digits it contains, as often as necessary, until there is only a single digit left.

Bob = 2, 6, 2

Add the numbers: 2 + 6 + 2 = 10

If the sum of those numbers is not a single digit, add them again: 1 + 0 = 1

So what you have is Bob = 1

Then, take that number back to the chart and select a corresponding letter choice from that column to be the first letter of your devoted name. You have flexibility here. You have three letters to choose from.

The name Bob would be represented by: A, J, or S (pick one of the three letters or all three, go with your intuition).

This would only be the first letter of your devoted name. Your middle name, reduced, will represent the second letter of your devoted name. Last name, reduced, will be your third letter and so on...

Repeat this number reduction formula for your, first name, middle name, last name, birth date, and the date you claim your magick name.

Say the date is July 14 1994. Take the month July = 07. The day = 14, and the year = 1994

Sum them 0 + 7 + 1 + 4 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 4 = 35

35 is not a single digit so you add 3 + 5 = 8

Then take 8 back up to the chart and choose from those corresponding letters.

8 = H, Q, or Z

You may also add other significant names and dates of importance that will add to the length of your devoted name. Go with your gut feeling when adding dates or names. Perhaps you have a lucky number that you would like to add. Use your intuition. I recommend you read my post in Astral Projection Basics and completely charge yourself full of positive energy before any magickal practice.

This is just the tip of the iceberg so to say. If you are attempting to make a crest or emblem, these numbers may also represent shapes and symbols as well - such as: Monad (1); Dyad (2) ;Triad (3); Tetrad (4); Pentad (5); Hexad (6); Heptad (7); Ogdoad, or Octad (8); Ennead (9); Decad (10).

Intention matters most when you direct your energy. The name that comes to you should reflect your intention.
