Opinions on Demons

I hope this is in the right section, I was wondering what everybody's opinion on demons are. Do they exist on our plane? Do they have an effect on us? Can we control them or perhaps summon them for use in rituals like some do with deities ? I am merely asking out of curiosity, I don't plan on doing anything dangerous!

I believe they do exist, but they are in a different frequency/plane and their power is limited. They can control you if you allow them too and lastly yes they can be summoned. But, it's not something to mess with, because at the end you'll be the one suffering.

Daemon (where the word originated from) was originally a higher spirit (in your demi-god/angel/elf level) that could be benevolent, malevolent or neutral. It was the same with the djinn in many parts.

The idea of "evil" spirits is everywhere, but the classifications of certain beings as being "evil" has become more of a mudslinging then anything. As religions clashed, the "enemy" religion's beings became the "evils" of the winning religions mythology.

Most spirits have the ability to be benevolent or malevolent. Many are like animals in the fact that they are "wild" and are likely to "prey" on weaker beings. You can see this in nature. Is the lion "evil" because it kills? Is lightening "evil" because it is deadly? People think too much into things and label anything that attacks them as evil demons, not realizing that if they were in a jungle, they would be targeted just as much by living physical creatures. It doesn't make these creatures less intelligent or "bad", they are merely acting according to the way they were born. You can befriend such beings, just as you could raise a bear cub and it will be your dearest companion. But to others it will still be a fierce and "evil" bear. You see how perspective changes things around? ;)

The idea of a demon is one that has been widely exaggerated beyond actuality throughout the ages. There are creates that we refer to as "demons" but in reality, they are very similar to you or me. There are "demons" on earth. A more accurate way of describing them would be wrathful deities. Some people call the souls that have unfinished business here and who have lead very evil lives which made them unable to move on from this plane, "demons". Others refer to demons as the creates that live on lower planes from our own. However you want to categorize them by, all "demons" are beings that are currently residing in a place of unimaginable pain and torment. They inflict pain and suffering on others as a desperate attempt to relieve their own pain. They are generally highly manipulative. I wouldn't say that they want to do you harm, so to say, but more as they don't have your best interest in mind while associating with you nd they generally will use you more as a tool than a person.

The most powerful of man do not learn how to hunt "demons", they learn how to turn "demons" into angels.

I'm pagan, so to me angels are ancient deities and those that "fly" under them.

" [Thoth] contrived...for Cronus the ensign of his royal power, having four eyes...and upon the shoulders four wings...But for the other gods there were two wings only to each upon his shoulders, to intimate that they flew under the control of Cronus."

That's Phoenician Mythology

Demons are generally considered spiritual or energy beings which is why it's considered possible to contact them by Ouija board.

Thank you all for your opinions! It is very interesting to see everybody's view on Demons. I am aware that the view of demons has been highly exaggerated by Hollywood just as witchcraft was. I noticed that one of you said that demons are not necessarily evil but it's just that they hunt what is weaker then them like lions do. Another one of you said they are just trying to inflict their pain onto others in an attempt to relieve it. What I wonder is, are there any demons out there just 100% evil? As in their only aim is to cause others pain for no other reason other then them being malevolent ?

Anyone of any "type" of being, even humans, can be malevolent just to cause pain and destruction because they find it satisfying. That is a quality of individual personality, not distinguished by form. It can also be a quality of insanity, which is also not something beyond a spirit. I've met quite a few that have lost their marbles and due to that "act out" in violent ways.

But demons exist on another plane. Not just a realm. Below ours and much harer to reach through magic. Its just my opinion and im not trying to argue or change any one elses view and i know that the other post was about the ouja board but i do not believe that contacting a demon or summoning one none the less can be done through a ouija board designed to contact spirits of the dead on the etheral plane, a realm that coexists with our own. It takes specific rituals to work with demons.

Of the Demons I have encountered (not many), they have all been very helpful in my life. You can summon them, however trying to control one would be very rude, they are intelligent beings with free will. They have helped me tremendously with chakra work, and one in particular has helped me in my everyday life for several years, and for that I am very thankful. They are not the evil beings that holywood and certain religions make them out to be.
