So I was telling my boyfriend a little about circle casting and he asked: magnetic North or true North, and I realized I hadn't seen that specified in any books I've read.
Curious if anyone has insights/opinions on this as far as candle placement.
I know some who use a compass, but I tend to go 'sun rise is there [place candle] sunset is there [place candle] so north is roughly here and south is roughly there.' If you cast in the same place you get to know where the directions roughly are.
There is also a technique where you cast two layers of the the circle where the inner one is where you set the candles or other pieces in the directions that are best for you to set them in while the outer layer realligns them into the proper directions. It's not a traditional method, but I find it can be useful.
I've googled about this, and Google told me the sun isn't reliable cause it rises and sets at different positions across different times of the year and only on like 2 days it gets it right and the maganetic North is shifting like crazy too all the time and only the North star shows the average true north. so i don't know, i think the Matrix is messing with me, so I gave up, but a part of me, the perfectionist part, is still kind of clinging onto the things and that's the reason I'm here. I'm currently trying to go with his i feel inside, idk about the directions, but I'm trying to go to wherever feels good i think because i get the feeling that this world is doing this on purpose, to torture my Perfectionist self.
i also want to add this, unrelated thing, because i feel like I've to say this somewhere. google also told me the zodiac signs are wrong because ancient people used old star positions and now the constellations have changed so the signs are all invalid, idk if it's just me or everybody in this world, just doing a reality check.
