I have been able to make flickers and seconds-lasting flames in hand...but my problem is visualization.
When I try to visualize or imagine, I always have to fall back to prior memories of a flame. I don't seem to have the "active imagination" as is needed to do anything of real value.
Any ideas how to overcome this? A flicker or few moments of fire in a palm of the hand is fine and dandy...but it's sort of fruitless if such thing can't be done over and over or with any sort of success.

I thought you said your element was wind? Why are you working with fire? Why don't you try wind instead.
See I am the opposite. Wind is hard for me to wrap my mind around. It never wants to listen to me. It takes me more concentration than anything else! So I only work with beings of air, the guardians and nature spirits. I let them do the air magick! =P
Fire and earth are my strengths. Water is neutral. But air...air doesn't like me at all!

Exploring all of the elements, even if you lean toward another, is a great way to expand your own experience and become comfortable with nearly any circumstance. It was pointed out to me by another member of Higher Magicks that Levi even suggests beginning in exploring a specific element that is "your" element, and then seeking out and mastering each of the others.
Thanks loco, but being in the army and deployed...the only way I can have a flame source is to start up smoking! :P I think I'll focus on air and wind...it's like calling to me in the back of my mind if that makes any sense. "Fire...no...destruction. Wind, breath of life, let it blow freely."
Yea...the picture that's just another focal point. When I see, the energy rises astronomical until it's out which is usually either a blink of an eye or a forceful vanish.
