Uses of Ouija Boards?

A couple questions I have.
1.)What can I contact.
2.)Is it a bad idea to use it on Halloween night?
3.)If I lead the session and have inexperienced people joining in, would they mess up my protection for them and I? Or should they also protect themselves individually?
4.)Is it better to buy the board or make it?

I'm aware that whatever comes through, it's just like a person. It can trick and lie. I know not to get emotionally attached to whatever it says.
Some people say that the Ouija board is used to contact the universe. Some say it's a portal to the spirit world. Which is it? Or is it all in the same?

I know there is a time and a place for everything. I figured since the "line of the living and dead erases" on Halloween (not sure if at Midnight or at 8pm) night, then something would come through the session faster. Is that a bad or good idea?

I know that protection is always important for any kind of workings. I want to know if one alone can protect the entire group or not. On top of that, what if they don't know how to. Can they use blessed objects such as a necklace or bracelet. What if they are skeptical? Will their doubts break my protection against bad energy?

My reason to use an Ouija board is to talk to anything, just like I would to a person. I know not to ask about the existence of God, where the gold is buried, to cause harm to others, or invite them.

I'm aware of the evil Zozo and the good Zaza(Not 100% sure on them).

1) You can contact a love one, a spirit, or a demonic entity

2) Halloween night is the perfect time of the year. The veil is at it thinnest and the spirits have this night to roam with the living. Also, I like Halloween so I'm biased (lol)

3) I tend to avoid people who are inexperience due to them asking stupidity questions as well some tend to get frightened easily. I will not recommend people who are light hearted. Also, you can protect them or they can individually protect themselves. It really depends on which method you choose.

4) Honestly, I never bought a board. I tend to make my own.

My opinion

I honestly would not recommend to use the spirit board. The reason is that you are opening a portal and if it is not closed properly you do not know who you are letting in. If you want to talk to someone I recommend you to use a pendulum. But this is my opinion, jst be careful about it.

to start Zozo isn't real, he's an internet hoax from the early 2000's. any research will direct you back to a post about a writer who met with Zozo and it slowly destroyed his life. Zaza on the other hand is a new one for me, but i'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's not real either.

1.)What can I contact.

well spirits commonly, but if you are foolish enough to not protect yourself [like with a circle] then you could contact any number of demons. never spoken with an astral being with the Ouija Board before, but i suppose it's possible. if you go with the scientific answer, you are contacting your subconscious mind, as you are the one moving the planchette subconsciously through muscle twitches, or your subconscious wanting to come up with answers. if you are doing this with friends, make sure they're trustworthy. it would also help being blindfolded [with one person recording the results, or a tape recorder works too] this way you can meditate and the friend cannot see the letters on the board to mess with you.

2.)Is it a bad idea to use it on Halloween night?

no. Samahin is one of the two points where the veil between the spirit realm and the physical is at its thinnest and contact is easiest. spirits who have passed on tend to return to walk the earth and visit loved ones on this night, returning to the afterwolrd in the morning. Celts use to dress in costume to blend in as it was believed anyone who wasn't would be captured and taken away to the realm of the dead. lot of history i could gush over, but the short version is, it's the easiest time to speak with spirits, cast a circle, and you'll be fine.

3.)If I lead the session and have inexperienced people joining in, would they mess up my protection for them and I? Or should they also protect themselves individually?

there's a great Jim Carry joke where he talks about his experience with Ouija Boards, where he would go over to his cousin Clarks house and they would goof around a bit, but then the planchette would start to move and he was convinced Clark was moving it. one day, however, the planchette flew off the board and this horrifying face appeared before them. Jim's heart was pounding, but he was too afriad to move, so he asked 'oh spirit, is there a message you have for us?' the spirit replied in a long moan 'yeeeeeesss' so Jim continued 'oh spirit, what is this message that brings you before us?' and the spirit replied 'Clarks moving it!' [much funnier when Jim Carry tells it but still a great point] you need to trust the people around you. they could mess with the board, they might not. keep some sage smudge on hand to be safe, but casting a circle big enough for everyone will be fine. its the other members you have to worry about messing with you. make sure everyone keeps their hands off the planchette, it should be the fingertips barely touching it.

4.)Is it better to buy the board or make it?

i say make, but it doesn't really matter. when you make the board you can use a material with certain magickal properties that can help protect, or contact, or whatever depending on the wood. you would also charge it while you make it, and you wouldn't have to worry about other peoples energy rubbing off in the process. plus you can design it however you want. if you go the store bought route, it's still fine, you just need to cleanse and charge the board first.

Just throwing in some Traditional beliefs from my family and which I also agree with . a Quija board is very dangerous and even though your trying to contact a specific person you don't know who you might be letting into your house My mother always warned me since childhood never to use a Quija board or bring one into the house.

not saying you can't or shouldn't just sharing some beliefs and knowledge

Ouija Boards can be dangerous! I would advise anyone who wants to use a Ouija Board to please be careful. The Ouija Board is a communication device that when used, could open up a doorway of another dimension. This may sound cool, but if you accidentally open yourself to a demonic entity. Once an entity finds out that they can communicate with you, they wont want to go away, thus they might become connected to you. Please use precation and Blessed Be!

I piggyback on Shadow's answer, that is very true. Also, i would say to bless the Ouija Board before and after use. Also, sprinkle it with Kosher salt. Also, Always sit up straight & never cross your legs or slouch. This shows that your body is relaxed & bad things can happen to you, because it shows weakness. So always use good posture. This makes you appear stronger.

As usual, Nekoshema is right spot on and really covered it.

If you have other questions, there are like a ton of posts on here about experiences and guidelines if you want to delve further

My grandmother says to never use it. A former friend claimed to have chairs and boards fly across the room when using it. Another friend couldn't seem ringer rid of hers. All I know is that you shouldn't use it unless you know what you're doing. Do purifications, blessings, cleansings, and protections. Until reading this thread, I didn't know that it could possibly create a "portal" of sorts, but it makes sense. Always be careful with things like these. Also, I heard from an experienced witch that one of the ways to properly use it is to have a few people using it whole one interprets. She uses three of her coven members who are blindfolded and have meditated for the planchette. She has them meditate and get into almost a trance like state, but I think you should just be calm and clear your mind. She has a fourth person ask questions and record the answers. That's a good way to use it and on here people have mentioned similar techniques.

Thanks for answering everyone. I have come to conclude that I am not ready ready for such things. I will try this when I'm fully ready. When I feel confident enough about my workings :)
One more thing.
Can I use a pendulum instead? I heard it's safer and how does that work?

I was originally planing on going to a friends house to use the board. So if I did and lets say something happened(it could be good or bad). Will anything follow me or will it bug the friend's house? Or both? Then again since I know how to banish and protect, will I be less targeted or most targeted?
