Most of the spells I've done have been based on shaping and manipulating energy, or on wards. I do the vast majority of my spells without tools, as the spells I created for myself don't use them as any more than concentration aids. Recently, my work has turned towards the use of symbols and runes to aid in the placement of longer lasting spells.
