A Witches Ladder is comprised of 3 lengths of material braided together, adding 3 feathers every 3 inches while chanting. The Witches Ladder is one of the most versatile spells ever discovered because there is no specific requirements as far as colors, gems, anything. You need only the strings and feathers, and you can work for anything.

At midnight within the circle, braid together three cords. Every three inches, add into the braid three feathers: one from a rooster, raven, and pheasant. Visualization and concentration are key.
With every trio of feathers, picture adding to your spell. The power will grow. While braiding keep your goal in mind, and incant the following:

First, find a quiet space where you can relax and meditate without interruption. Light a blue candle in front of you (optional). Then, charge your incense (cinnamon, recommended) by simply holding the sticks or cones in your hands, visualize the outcome you want to encourage with the spell, and let your energy infuse the incense with your intention. This way, when you light it, it will release your energy out into the atmosphere as it burns. Remember, this is also optional, but it adds a great deal of power to your spell. Meditate until you feel you are in a relaxed, almost trance like state. When you feel you are ready, open your eyes and chant the following for as long as you see fit:

Scented incense can be a great addition to spells. Although, it is important to know what scents give off certain energy or power. This way, if you ever use incense in one of your spells, you'll know what kind to use to give your magick that extra "oomph".

Place candle directly infront of you (if you're using a table or something place it on that if not just use the floor). Fill a bowl of water and put it to the left of that. Fill a bowl of salt and place it directly across from the candle.
Put the feathers to the right of the candle. Light the candle at this point (preferably with maches) Tape or pin the pentacle to a wall with the necklace over it.
Starting over the candle move your non-dominant (receptive) hand over each element going clockwise and chant: "Elementa ignis, aqua, terra, et a'ris per hoc monile protegas me ex mali spiritus et infitialis industria".
Continuing to chant and moving your hand hold your other hand over the necklace. Channel the energy from the elements to the necklace focusing on the thought of it protecting you and warding off evil.
Draw a star insignia on paper. In the first arm of the star write Lux in 2nd(left) write Terrae. In 3rd write A'ris. In 4th Ignis. In 5th Aqua. Beneath the stars write the following: "Lux elementis terra, aer, ignis, aqua, et custodierit me ab omni malo!" Roll up the paper and tie with string or thread and put it in the pocket.

Mix the oils, leaves, and pumpkin seeds in a bowl. Light the candles and say these words:
On this day of Samhain.
On this night on Halloween Eve/Night.
I give my offering to the good spirits of this night.
As night approaches, bless my home from evil spirits.
Trick or Treating as a neighborly tradition.
With this offering to the moon goddess.
