Even and Odd Hours in Magic

A beginner?s guide on how even and odd hours are used in magical practice, and why they should be combined with the proper lunar phase and day of the week.

This is the first stage for those who have not yet learned to calculate planetary hours. Begin by timing your work to odd or even hours, and always pair the choice with the proper lunar phase and day of the week for best results.

  • Even hours → associated with opening, attraction, increase. Use when you want to draw something closer (love, luck, money, success).
  • Odd hours → associated with closing, banishing, unbinding, hexing. Use when you want to drive away misfortune, break a binding, curse, or cut away something negative.

Lunar pairing: work during the waxing Moon for attraction and increase; work during the waning Moon for banishing, unbinding, and hexing. If in doubt, choose the phase that mirrors your intent.

Note: This guide is a practical starting point. As you progress, refine your timing by learning planetary hours for additional precision.
