I have heard many people complain about people that rely on spells for every little thing in life. I myself agree that this is not right. If it can be solved without one, then give it a shot. However I would like to point out that there is a difference between living a life where you use occult practices all day, and relying on spell casting.

When I was a child, my mum used her practice in every aspect of her life. If she was cooking, she would add herbs and say a prayer over the food. She would dance around a bonfire in the moonlight. She taught us to be careful about what we think and say, because all this goes out to the universe. She would meditate when stressed or in need of guidance. She taught us the "magic of color". That the placement and color of our surroundings effects our moods and flow of energy. Before bed we would take a cleansing bath to wash away the negativity.

These and many other traditions have followed me all my life. Do I do spells for every little thing? No I do not. If I am stressed and meditation is not helping, I burn herbs for aromatic purposes and sometimes say a prayer to the universe. If I am ill, I assess my diet and surroundings. I use herbs in my cooking, and say a prayer or blessing over them.

My whole point is, if you can handle a situation without a ritual or spell then do so. If someone makes me mad, I would tell them and solve it physically. You want someone to love you, put yourself out there and make yourself open to love. Your feeling depressed or upset, see a therapist. Not every little problem must be fixed with a spell. However, there is nothing wrong with living your life in a way that surrounds it in magic.

Love, light and blessings to all :)
