1. Try to read and examine if you can, The goetian isn't a horror and not always in an animal form (altough they can shapeshift if they want). 
2. They are all 72 elder Gods/Goddess (appear like an Angel with different colors & appearance style) which you can also see it in the anctient pantheon, greek, roman, norse, egyptian, sumerian, hindu even in astec and native american as well. 
3. You can see their names could be a little different because of different languages and phoenetic systems (There's no "international Phoenetic Alphabert" in the old times) and different writing systems (For example: in the ancient times, How does people be able to read cunieform, heiroglyph even chinese words, There's no international system before) also told others only by mouth and not even with visual texts, will bring so many difference. 
4. The reason why so many people fail to summon real 72 goetias, because They filled themself with a tons of bad believes about what they summon is a horror thing, Then what will appear is not a goetia spirit, but a tricky creature that wants to manipulate you. This is a weak summoner fault, and not their's (don't let outside suggestion blurry our vision).
