Jesus was born to Mary and Joseph in Bethlehem. Three wise kings worshipped him, bringing gifts for his ministry. They returned to their own lands while Joseph and Mary journeyed with Jesus to Egypt, because the wicked King Herod became jealous of them. King Herod persecuted Israel, killing any newborn male. So Joseph, Mary, and Jesus remained in Egypt until King Herod expired. Herodias his son took his place, however, and persecuted John the Baptist, an important prophet who loved God and was born to Elizabeth, Mary's aunt. Jesus worked with his father as a carpenter. He began his ministry of healing and faith, chose disciples to teach and instruct, and healed many people of diseases. Jesus rebuked demons, cast put devils, and restored health to the lame and suffering. Jesus taught about salvation and eternal life. Then a jealous mob betrayed Jesus, lied about him, tortured him, and crucified him. He died on a cross, suffering the punishment of condemnation even though he was totally innocent. His disciples buried him in a tomb, the tomb of Joseph of Aramathea, a faithful Jew who loved God and believed in Heaven. Jesus remained in the tomb for three days. He arose from death on the third day by the power of God. He left the tomb and papered to His disciples. He blessed the disciples and ascended into Heaven. The Holy Spirit is the Divine Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit blessed the disciples and the Christian Church, protecting them from harm.
