Casting Instructions for 'Rebirth'
You will need the following items for this spell:

- Something to light your candle

2- Stare into the flame, and channel all your past negative emotions into it. Imagine these emotions as a sphere of energy in your core, then imagine them going out though your arms and into the candle, traveling to the flame.
3- (Do not break eye contact with the candle, unless it's to blink, of course, and don't lose concentration on the flame.) Say these words, addressing your God or Goddess of choice: ''My Lord/Lady, I have been though many hardships in this life of mine. I wish for my pains and sorrows, angers and frustrations, fears and uncertainties, to be changed into something newer and stronger. I wish to grow from my past mistakes and misfortunes, not to be held back by them. I wish to hurt from them no more; for them to do me no harm. I wish for them to transform me into someone wiser, stronger, calmer, and more self-aware. So mote it be.''
4- Imagine the energy that represents the negative emotions changing color, and becoming wisdom, strength, peace, and self-awareness. Imagine the energy going from the flame back through the candle and down your arms back to your core.
5- Thank the God/Goddess and blow out the candle.

No offense, but there are more profiles then just Nekoshema. Still, she/he is a great giver of information (even though most of his/her articles are currently available only to members of a coven, which is kind of annoying, but still, his/her choice).
Anyway, to answer your question, yes, I think this could work. The spell does not promise any too other-worldly results which is a good sign. This spell is like a transformation spell (energetic transformation, not physical). The energy in the flame turns from negative to positive energy which is then returned to your body. All in all, this could work. But I haven't tried it myself so I wouldn't know for sure.

Transformation spells are meant to bring change, not physically transform you, but spiritually/mentally. This spell seems to be a type of ''New Years'' spell, where you wish to grow, start a new habit, heal from the past, so on. This should set your intentions and make transitioning into your ''new year, new me'' easier. So, if what you're expecting from this spell is to get a sense of newness and rejuvenation on your path, I feel it'll work. If you were hoping to cast this and physically become a new person, no.
