pet burial rituals

hello!! ive been practicing for a couple of years now but i've never worked with anything death related and its hard to find books on the specific subject that i need.

recently my flock of ducks was attacked by a predator, 2 survivedunharmed, one has a neck injury but is recovering, but unfortunately one has passed away.

her name was marshmallow but we call her marshie. she was 5 months almost 6, i raised her since she was 2 days old at most. shes my favorite out of all of them, i love her so much. im devastated that this happened to her but i know shes doing better now since she's passed.

i miss socializing with her. we were so close, she would run up to me making little happy chirps whenever i got off the bus in the afternoon and she would also get under my window whenever i was doing something in my room & bark until i came out and gave her attention.

im burying her eggs (they were unable to hatch but she tried being a mama to them) and making a memorial for her soon, i want to know if there'sany rituals i can preform that would help her receive peace and comfort in the afterlife or something similar . i want to help lay her to rest because i know i wont have rest untilmy girl is resting peacefully. i also would like if anyone could give me some recommendations to include in her memorial area or offerings to her.

also if possible it wouldmean a lot to me if there was someway i could communicate with her again. ive heard of people communicating to pets who have passed on and pet psychics but i dont know if its the right idea.

if someone could point me in the right direction for any of this it would mean so much. thank you for taking time to readthis! i hope you have a wonderful life ahead of you.

goodbyefor now!

Hi dear,

First, I'm very sorry for your loss. I've owned a pet duck before, and his death was hard on me. Understandably, you're dealing with a lot. If you need someone to talk to, I'm here for you.

I haven't worked with pet rituals first hand, but when my pets have passed, I always buried them with their favorite toy. If they enjoyed a particular toy, area to rest in, or something else, taking a piece of that for burial can be a good way to honor her. Even a handful of her favorite food works. One of my cats loved my baby blanket and got to take it to burial with him.

I think you could probably communicate with her through prayer or simple divination like pendulum work; if you work with a deity, asking them to pass along a message could work as well.

Otherwise, I think placing a protection over her grave as well as the remainder of your flock would be a good offering. If I think of anything else, I'll make sure to reply here as well. Again, I'm sorry for your loss and I know she loved you dearly and is in a better place now.
