belief in the paranormal

I've heard over the years that believing in things like ghosts, magick, and cryptids will draw these things to you. That when you start to pay attention to them, they begin to pay attention to you. I want to have more paranormal experiences and unexplainable encounters - is there a way to do this? Can I draw weird things to me?

Believing isn't enough on its own. In order to sense the presents of nonphysical entities and such, you have to work on those nonphysical senses. My guess is that unless an entity causes a physical change that you can perceive normally, you'll likely never know it's there. Even if you do work on those senses, there's no guarantee that someone or something will visit you.

Hi Pam2006,

You are on the right track, it is true that if you believe you will be more likely to see and experience such things. Work and study will add to your experience as it will help you open up pathways. Of course be careful and do not just do things to see results

A good practice would be to begin Spirit Keeping, it will help you with communication in the spirit realm. I will give you a good site below if you are interested and good luck on your quest.

Sincerely,
ShadeTree

To put it more psychologically you could call spirits or even deities archetypes. An archetype is a symbol of characteristics you embody as a person. Some people's personality traits could equal the hero, the hermit, or even the damsel in distress. These are symbols that name a cluster of characteristics a person may have deep within their personality. To put this more in the better light of your question consider this. If someone was to embody the mother archetype they may be closer to motherly spirits or Goddesses. Every deity and spirit is a cluster of characteristics we may hold inside ourselves. Because psychologically they are symbols that can bear traits of our personality. So for instance someone who bears close to the Mother Archetype could be close to Gaia, Nyx, Isis, or even Demeter. This alone does not need to be a deity but even a cartoon character or any motherly spirit out there. To answer your question we must go even deeper. Whatever we happily announce as a partof ourselves there are parts of us we ignore. So to bring up the mother archetype we may be suppressing something deep inside of ourselves that goes along with it. This place where denied or unacknowledged parts of self rest is called the shadow self. If you think about it the more you accept something within you there is something you are suppressing deep into your unconscious. Think about it this way. If you accept you love cake you are suppressing the value of how much you dislike cake. To put it more about how we discussed the mother archetype we can understand it better this way. The shadow self develops early in our lives. If we were the oldest of our siblings and we hadto suppress our childhood to take care of others we may end up being close to the Mother archetype. As time goes on when you have your own children. For instance, you may not like having youroldest child-to have freetime for themselves andyou give them hard workto do. This is in response to your shadow archetype called the child. Since she didn't have any free time you give your oldest hard workto do in response to that.Every archetype we accept there is one we deny. They tend to show up in dreams and in parts of your life. The shadow self can be mad in a way and try their best to show up in our daily lives. Usually, when we see a person who we don't like it's because they are a showing part of yourself that you suppressed. To get more spiritual about this we may even see spirits who embody parts of ourselves we tried to deny. Which can then turn into night terrors or even mental illness. To answer your question you only draw spirits or even deities toward you because they are parts of you either acknowledge or suppress. I do not believe that there are physical beings out there that could harm you and this is my only opinion. They can only cause damage by things that are already there. If you have anger problems the shadow self may use that their its advantage. If you are sad often they can make you sadder. They do this because they want to be acknowledged and not suppressed. Once you bring them into the light and acknowledged their presence you will find peace. This is called shadow work and I will not be discussing that at all because this is becoming way too long of a post. Seeing a spirit or having a divine experience is basically what going on in your head rather than in some kind if spirit world. They reflect who you are and what you need to work on as a person. Like I said this is my own opinion and I hope this helped you in any kind of way.

If you want to open a doorway to the Spirits and experience more paranormal activities you would need to go at a local graveyard or cemetery or a place with lots of death. Beware once you open something you can't never close it. Always wear protection against spirits.
