Hiding in plain view

So, as a hypothetical scenario for when I actually have my own home (if I ever do), I was thinking about potentially leaving some points of interest for spiritual creatures, such as a fairy ring for fairies and some form of shrines for others, since it feels like it would be a nice gesture. I would need to educate myself on their varieties and what they would like, but it sounds doable.

Then I thought about how exactly I would go about having, for instance, a fairy ring in my backyard without having a guest's child briefly left unattended step into it to probably disastrous results. A ring in the middle of nowhere would seem odd to an unaware onlooker, even if fenced off, and as such, they may become too inquisitive. A large plant in the center is something I considered, but I don't know how the spirits would take to it, or the subsequent watering I would have to do. Some form of ornament, perhaps?

Then there is also the fact that a variety of spirits are rather known to not usually get along, so I would also like to know how likely putting something for everyone a short distance away from each other would be to, instead of being a gathering place for all sorts, turn my backyard into a spiritual warzone.

A childproof fence seems like your best option to keep children out.
To disguise the fairy ring maybe you could plant some flower bushes around and near it to distract onlookers. Turn it into a little flower garden and just incorporate the ring into the aesthetic.
Maybe plant some cacti near the fence to help deter the children as they would be more careful around it and their parents might try to keep their kids away too to avoid them getting hurt. (just make sure to plant them far away enough from the fence that they don't accidentally prick themselves on them.

As for the variety of spirits, maybe make small paths between their specific areas to act as clear boundaries that you could also walk on. That way they know which section is who's and it would allow you to easily water the plants.
Along with that, you'll also have a pretty flower garden that may also attract local bees and other beneficial bugs, especially if you plant native flowers.
If you have enough space you might even be able to make a small area for yourself with a nice outside table and chair to sit and talk with the spirits or have some food. (you could also set up small table thingies in their areas to set offerings on)

Hopefully this helps you brainstorm ideas ^^
(also an idea I had just now, is maybe plant some plants based on their properties so you have a magic garden, or tastes for herbs and spices to use in cooking)
