Devils shoestring substit

I need to make a protection for a loved one far away jar for my son. It calls for devils shoestring to tangle and trap ill will and trip up evil, I ordered it already but it's not here yet and I can no longer wait yo make the jar. What can I use instead?

I am uncertain how your are to use the devils shoe string in your particular spell jar but I often entangle the shoestring when working with this herb. One could use a shoelaces with the words devils shoestring written on them and include transfiguration sigils or symbols to them so that the laces can beentangled. One can also tie/knot herbs to the laces or dry rub them in an herbal blend. Herbs like sage, basil, nettles, cayenne pepper, cedar, rue, rosemary, juniper, mugwort, thyme,wormwood, and bay leaves. One of these herbs by it's self or any combination of these herbs can be use as a substitute for devils shoestring.

If it's to tangle and trap you could easily just use cobwebs, since they trap and tangle things.

You may also be able to tie shoes together (because tying shoes trips and traps someone), or use glue (since it sticks something still, stopping them in their tracks). anything that symbolises tangling, slowing down, or hindering could be used.
