Is rainbow energy magic?

Point your right indicator finger down, think of black, then point your left indicator up, and think of white. This projects rainbow energy of 20 feet length a mile above you. Potentially negative workings happen 2 miles above you, this may negate some magic in a certain range of the energy. Is something that works against magic considered magic?

Something that protects against magic or counter magic can be considered magic. However, many who have used it historically didn't exactly consider it so. Many were Christian folk whom were looking for protection from magical interference from others. Examples of these workings can be found in numerous writings and we're considered a folk charm, or remedy.

Today, there are many magical practitioners whom use counter magic in their own practices. Namely to protect from the workings of other practitioners.
