OCD and Wicca
By:
I suffer from OCD. I am scared that I/my OCD will contact an unwanted entity/being with my intrusive thoughts. This scares me to death.
Every time when I/my OCD does contact someone I don't want to, I have to pray and do a ritual to undo it and it is mentally exhausting.
I've tried to sage and cleanse everything but I am honestly going mad. I'm scared that the beings I DO want to contact, will hear the intrusive thoughts and be upset at me. I feel as though I accidentally brought unwanted spiritual attention/attacks because of my OCD.
I really hope this is just all in my head and it's just my imagination, but it's hard to tell.
Any other OCD witches here? Or just general tips?

My first suggestion would be that you try contacting any sort of entity from inside a cast circle. State clearly that the only entity you wish to contact is a particular one. The circle can then keep other entities from entering your sacred space. As you have indicated that this is part of a Wiccan ritual, you can also ask the help of the Lord and Lady in keeping you safe.

I am thinking that what may be going on now is less that something you don't want is trying to contact you, then it is that your OCD has now built into your practice that you have to cleanse after every ritual even if nothing distracted you. As with any ritual in OCD, such as hand-washing, etc. it's going to have to take some serious work on your part to deprogram your brain and move on. If you have been under treatment for OCD you probably already know some of these ways to get rid of OCD programing you don't want to follow. Those should help in this case as well.

A technique that has been found to be helpful in OCD is that of " Mindfulness Meditation ", something brought to us from Buddhist practices. Psychologists are now using this as a way to help yourself be anchored in the present moment so you don't get distracted by random thoughts or OCD programing. There is an excellent article about Mindfulness Meditation at https://www.mindful.org/meditation/mindfulness-getting-started/ and I would also highly recommend the book " The Miracle of Mindfulness" by Thich Nhat Hanh.

And if you do a search on Google, you can find a number of guided meditations for mindfulness as well to help you get started.

I have mild OCD and Schizoaffective Disorder. I totally hear you about fearing the contact of an unwanted entity!

Keep sageing and cleansing, even if it's to sage the doors and windows with holy water. I know I get a lot of psychic clutter if I don't. I love using bells to help clear out my ritual space. Also, call upon your guardian spirit/guardian angel/protective light to help you discern a brain toot/paranoia from something more sinister. I also second the idea of using a circle before calling anything.

Good luck! **hugs**
