Usage of Runes

Methods of using runes in practice.

Runes are an alphabet of Germanic and Norse peoples. Traditionally it has been said the runes were a gift to the world from Odin. Runic divination is a way to get in touch with our subconscious. Leading us along a journey of insight and deep inner knowing.

Runes as divination:

One runic pulls or daily draws are a wonderful way of checking in on our day. I like using this method as a daily theme to draw upon. Weekly checks with runes can work well. I like to draw three runes. One for the start of the week, one for mid-week, and one for the end. This helps me to see how my week may unfold.

Runes in magic:

I like to use runes as an embodiment of my intent during spell work. A favorite method of mine is to carve runic symbols into soap for spiritual bathing. Runes can be carved into candles to add intentions into workings.

Runes psychologically:

I like to use runes as a theme. Something to work on for a period of time. I will place a rune in a prominent space on my altar to reflect upon its meaning.

Runes can be used in many different ways and not only for divination. They can be stitched into sachets, combined into sigils, and carved onto candles. Their meanings have a multitude of purposes including inner work. A set is a great addition to one's practice and can be used magically for years.
