so i know there is alot of people here who dont like others asking about necromancy, but i am interested for the fact of knowledge. I'm wanting to know sources to learn more about it, like the type of spells, history, identifying its magick, and so on. i've tried searching it myself using google, the site forums and so on. But no clear answer. I'm wanting to learn about it is all. I've seen it described in 2 ways but with very little detail. would anyone be willing to share any kind of info with me?

I'm busy right now, but head to this link:-

pdfdrive.com

There you'll find a search bar. Type in "Witch's Book of the Dead". It has a lot of information in it, but if you ever plan on applying it, you'll need some patience.

Necromancy is by definition a practice of communicating with the dead, often for the purpose ofpredicting the future.

Necromancy is also working in any capacity with those who were once alive but are now in the spirit world again.

Necromancy can be talking with a spirit through a spirit board, seance, medium, or other form of communication with the intention to gain knowledge about events in the past, present, or future.

One can also cast a magical working in conjunction with a being that is deceased. This type of magical practice is similar to working with any spirit that can aid you with a casting.

Necromancy is also working with death energy the energy surrounding the transition and helping a being to cross over.

A couple of books specifically relating to how the ancient Greeks approached necromancy and honouring the dead are The Restless Dead: Encounters Between the Living and the Dead in Ancient Greece by Sarah Iles Johnston, and Ancient Greek Necromancy by Daniel Ogden.

They're both excellent, but are academic in tone, so don't expect a how-to guide. There are plenty of ideas to be gleaned from them though.
