Shrinking spells?

My goal is to become an insect permanently. I feel strongly I was one in my former life and wish to live out my life as one. To see the world through their eyes. To achieve that I would sell my soul.

That is not achievable in any sort of reality. You'll just have to live with that disappointment.

I'd much rather encourage you to learn what is, and to accept what is as opposed to what you wish were.

Sorry to discourage you, but you cannot become anything other than the human you already are in this lifetime. Magic isn't going to change the DNA you were born with. Perhaps next time on the Wheel you could be reincarnated as an insect if that is what you truly wish.

Nor can you actually sell your soul.

On the astral plane you can take whatever form you wish. So I would think it possible to take on the form of an insect while you are on the astral.

Could I die if I Astral project into an insect and get killed or eaten?

The worst possibility while projecting is snapping back to consciousness. That is, you'd be disturbed back to a waking state in stead of your awareness being elsewhere. You might be momentarily disoriented, like being woken up from a deep sleep and an intense dream, but that's it.
