Spell/Prayers/Incantation

I would like some spells or prayers or Incantations to help a family member heal from some mental/emotional trauma that happened at school. All I know is they went through a mental break and are now taking meds.

I'm quite besides myself and don't know how to react. It's been awhile since I've done magick. But I really want to help to ease their mind and help them heal efficiently.b

I trust the meds to work but sometimes these things need a bit of tender love.

Something simple yet effective will do.

Please and thank you.

The best spells are really ones you write yourself. Doing so will add more of your personal energy. Here's a process for doing so I've read about recently, roughly paraphrased. Note that there are many ways to write spells, but I quite like this one. If it doesn't work for you, there are articles on this site that talk about writing spells.

First, sit down and think about what you want the spell to accomplish. In this case you want it to help your friend heal from his mental breakdown.

Next, write down what the spell will and won't do, making these as specific as possible. These are its directors and limiters. Without these the spell will simply follow the path of least resistance, which could produce unwanted results. Even a healing spell could go horribly wrong if it's left unchecked depending on what happens. An example of directors may be that the spell will work in combination with your friend's medication. This should insure that it doesn't cause him to stop taking his medication for whatever reason. Another could be that this spell will provide energy that he can use should he need it. This would guard against the spell trying to interfere with his free will. An example of a limiter may be that no one will come to harm or lose property as a result of this spell. Always a good one to include.

After that, decide on any spirits, deities or whatever sort of higher powers you want to call upon to give your spell a boost if desired. If you don't work with any, then don't call upon any. Also decide if you'll be doing anything else such as burning candles or any other sort of ritual.

Once that's all done, take what the spell should do along with its directors, limiters, and calls to other powers (if any), and write your incantation based on that. That's probably the most difficult part if you struggle with it.

Finally, cast the spell. How you do that is up to you. You could burn a candle while speaking your incantation. You could also put your spell's purpose along with its directors and limiters underneath the candle. Always observe basic fire safety. If you chose to create any rituals for this incantation, incorporate them.

To close this out, keep in mind that magic may not be necessary. If possible, just spend time with your friend and let him know that he doesn't have to face this challenge alone. Check up on him every so often. Sometimes that can be more effective than any spell ever could.

Good luck!

If you are looking to heal them, I have a certain method I use for such things. I just kind of sit and meditate. I keep my eyes closed but try to picture and experience my surroundings at the same time. I try to feel for where they are and form a connection between our energies, and as I focus on building mine up, I sort of picture sending it over to them. To me, it looks like a sort of cloud in my mind, and I just sort of picture it wrapping around them and providing strength and protection. I guess it isn't really a healing spell, but I tried it on my fiance when he was in a dark place before we were really together, and he told me the next morning that he felt incredible and couldn't figure out why. I suppose it could have just been a coincidence, but I hadn't told him what I was doing at the time.

If you are looking for something for them to kind of find strength within themselves, there is something I used to do for myself that I found somewhere on this site a long time ago. I don't think I could find it again if I tried, but it was a sort of mantra I would repeat to myself. I started out simply doing it while meditating, but I found that it really helped me to gain some confidence and push forward day to day as well.

It goes like this:

Power from Mother,
Power from Earth,
Power from inside me
and power from worth.

Take over me
and make me stronger
I will be weak
for no longer.

I had a lot of self worth and insecurity issues at the time, so repeating this to myself in my head kind of helped to ground me when I felt like I was spiraling. Best of luck to you and your family member. I hope they recover soon
