Altars?

Hey, in advance im pretty new to this site so if this should go in another forum let me know :)

Anyway, as well as being new to this site im also pretty new to everything, a few of my main questions though are to do with altars.
1) What is the point? What are they for?
2) Why are they important? Why does everyone have one?
3) Is it important?
4) Is it necessary to practise witchcraft?

Again, please let me know if this should be somewhere else, or if i have worded this rudely so i can fix it. Thanks in advance!

An altar is usually a table or something similar where a witch places their most used and important witchcraft tools. All or many major workings are done at an altar. Most witches opt to have one because it is convenient and helps the energy of your working if you have a place that is solely dedicated to witchcraft so that you can work free of distraction. If you worship a deity, you can make an altar for them to show dedication as well. The craft is very personalized, so you can practice perfectly fine without an altar, but as your craft progresses you may come to see the appeal and decide to set one up!
