For a new spell caster

Hi I’m new to spell casting and I was just wondering what are the basics to know before casting a spell.

Some things you should look up and practice before spell casting: grounding, centering, basic meditation, circle casting, warding, cleansing, intent, visualization, why a spell might fail, and times/lunar phases if that interests you. I'm likely leaving some stuff out, but all of these are very important either for successful spell casting or to protect against negative impact of your spells or others' spells.
