are you just going to use the oils to create and during the ritual or spell? just asking because if you are using them with your significant other,lavender just might put you both to sleep..that is what it does to me.
Anytime you are using ingredients for a spell or ritual it really comes down to your intentions and manner in which you are casting. If all you have are essential oils and not extract, then use what you have. Spending a small fortune on ingredients to me is silly when you can easily utilize what you have available already. If you feel something is desperately needed in one of your spells and you want to use the purest form, then, go with your gut and find that ingredient. Many casters will be able to manipulate whatever items they have to create the intention and desire they are seeking. It really comes down to you.
Some may perform a spell and test different ingredients and find some things work better or have stronger or more desirable results. That is how you develop your style and preference for writing your ingredients for your spell. But there is not right or wrong item. Some casters don't even use ingredients. When it comes down to it, the words in your thoughts are your intentions and that is what is at the heart of your spell.
I personally, will always pick rose essential/oil for my love spells or potions. I prefer the Rose otto type but you can also use Rose Attar. This essential oil is produced from Damasks type of rose, which is one of most used roses in herbalism and magic. Unfortunately, the Damasks Rose production was affected by the conflict of Syria. You can also use ylang ylang essential oil too. Rose blends well with geranium and ylang ylang essential oils.
Rose essential oil will work fine if the intent is for a love spell.

As for lavender I'd personally use it for an intent of admiration.
You can use both the rose and lavender oils in one spell, but you may want to hold off on using the lavender and save it for something else if you don't require it for the love spell.
