The only, and I mean absolutely only, advice I have on the matter is to study whichever tradition it is you follow. Many traditions include working with spirits. Most of these take a while to get there, because it takes a lot of preparation, especially mental. So stick with whichever tradition you have currently been studying. It will probably get through some exercises to strengthen yourself at a metaphysical level, get into banishing and shielding at some point, and eventually start talking how to employ these things and others to working with spirits. While most demons are not blatantly evil things as some would insist, many are difficult to work with. Thus it is good not to just jump in, and approach with knowledge and practiced skill. A piece of advice common among different traditions which work with spirits: Never call something which you cannot banish.
