Can these paths be mixed?

My path is a bit here and there. I'm not certain I've settled in one. I practice Hedge witch, green witchcraft, I've tried solitary green wicca however couldn't settle in deity other than Gaia.
I try traditional ancestor spiritual work. I'm interested in Draconian wicca. Can all these be mixed? They're all so different. I'm all over the place. I like structure but not so much lengthy rituals.

I wouldn't worry about working withdeities so soon, if your new to practices. If you keep on going with you craft, than most likely, they will come to you, and not the other way. However, Gaia is a greatdeity to work with no matter your path, especially if you are on the Hedge path. She is also one that most start out working with.

A suggestion at this point is, you might want to slow down, take some time to research more, and wait a little, you do not need to work with so many topics at once.

Draconian is a practice that again should wait, until you are a little bit more experience or knowledgeable, but yes I don't see what is wrong with mixing these paths together. Maybe just don't do it so soon, if you wish to work with ancestors, than leave them offerings that you know, they liked in life, or black coffee and water are normally the two that they would enjoy.

Again if you are all over the place, than write these topics down in a notebook, or with technology if you prefer. This way you can keep a list, on what you wish to find, remember to do, your own research and than come back to it, when your comfortable and asked if this is really areas that you wish to work with.

Try not feel pressured about working with so many areas, most start of with one and work themselves up the ladder, so to speak.

Experimenting systems to see which one fits you better is a good thing when you're a student. But after a while, jumping from system to system reveals a lack of maturity in the spiritual path. See what system fits you better by experimenting several and then stick to just one. You're not going to have any spiritual growth by continuously jumping from system to system.

Theurgic is correct.

It is also my opinion that plugging deities from multiple traditions together in one rite can be sloppy and honestly offensive to the deity and the culture they stem from. For example people who follow a neo-wiccan path and have Jesus as the God and Ishtar as the Goddess- that is simply ridiculous.

You have to be smart, you have to do things which make sense.

They can be mixed, you can do anything you want. But it doesn't mean gaia should be called upon in the same working as your ancestors unless you are given an impression that this will be beneficial from both of them.

Exactly, my religion is the umbanda and it believes in reincarnation, life after death, karma. There is a supreme God and divinities. So I guess my system has to do with my beliefs, you should use the system that fits better with your beliefs. Sometimes you can't just try a system because of your beliefs regarding that system, and even if you do, because of your doubt regarding the system any spell/prayer might not work. So, it also has to do with your beliefs.

Some great points here for me. I've pondered a lot on this subject of deities for a long while and I don't mix them in a working.
I really feel calling towards draconian yet feel that this is very advanced for me. So perhaps would it be best to step back and work Wicca for time being? Is it a case of try these paths out to see how they feel?

Honestly, people always start with Wicca, or Neo-wicca as book-learned Wicca is not proper Wicca, because it is the most popular belief system out there. There are loads of books, it seems like everyone is a Wicca. I started there, but it depends on where you are called.

You should research the path, if it is a modern path, research the paths it takes from. You will find most Western Magical Traditions, including Wicca, take from traditional British witchcraft, the Key of Solomon, Agrippa, Crowley, and the Golden Dawn. But all these systems are complex and hard for a beginner to read.

If you start with Wiccan texts you will have a great foundation- The Farrars, Cunningham, Gardner, Valiente, Thorn Mooney- these are the authors you will want to look at. He is a love or hate kind of author but I enjoyed the work of Christopher Penczak when I was starting out.

Good luck with your journey!

Keep in mind, sometimes in a system you have another system that has the same beliefs, in my system there is a divinity that is also believed in the voodoo religion. So you're not necessarily jumping from system to system if once in a while you do a ritual that is not from your religion to honor a spirit that is believed in the other religion. But if you pray to a single God (monotheism) one day and the next day you pray to a wiccan goddess, there isn't going to be any spiritual growth. This is what I'm refering to, sometimes you have systems that are friendly with eachother and it's okay to perform a ritual to honor a spirit that is believed in the same religions.

Though this thread is a bit old, out of curiosity I was reading the comments and couldn't help but feel intrigued to argue my own opinion.

I don't see anything wrong with mixing systems and concepts together to form your own belief that you can be content with. Some people like myself simply don't agree fully with all the paths out there.

I don't see it as hopping paths, but taking parts of each to form a new one.

My personal beliefs at the moment is a mix of wicca, shamanism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity. I believe that Jesus was real but not a Messiah like Jews believe. To elaborate to those who care; pretty much I see all the gods/goddesses/deities to be concepts of the same universal god, whom is everywhere in everything, and in multiple dimensions and verses. I believe in Karma and Dharma, and I believe in earning the right to an afterlife. I believe amongst all this that magic is a material and spiritual element gifted to us to help shape our lives as well.

With that however, I can also see how it might seem immature for one to simply decide one day that they're neo wiccan, but the next day decide they're draconian.

In the end, it doesn't matter what others think. The most important thing is that you like what you do, and be who you are.
