Magic Circles & Symbols

Out of curiosity, is anyone here familiar with the circles of old, I'm talking about the ones with the symbols around them as well as the ones that are meant as a type of containment unit for invited energies? (I have a few pictures in my photos to help explain what I'm asking about, they are labeled accrodingly)

Okay, do you know if there are set rules or guides as to what type of symbols to place around the circle and such, as well as the conjuration circles?

Generally circles are used forsetting aside sacred space/marking an area as fit for practice. These circles are normally astral in nature, however, in group workings a physical boundary is often marked.

Another example is within evocation practices derived from grimoires, the circle is both a way of delineating space and protection. The symbols and names used are usually names of power which are associated with beings you have a connection with from your own system or from the system you are following.

Okay, so out of curiosity, would words of power be a good addition as well or even in place of deities names? And as for the astral sense, I know this, the thing is, I am huge into html programming so what I like to do is to create tables and the like as a type of schematics book so that way whenever I'm going to cast circle I pull up the one best for the purpose and I keep it up and open so I can best get used to visualizing and sensing the boundaries and the like of it, I hope that makes sense.

Some would say words of power and deity names are the same thing: so yes, I would say so.
