As Follow said, those are just labels. Some traditions will use those labels quite differently from each other.
While one system may differentiate between what's helpful or baneful, there are others with much stricter definitions. For example, there are those which consider anythingdesiring a materialistic or external result as black magic. These traditions only consider internal development -- becoming a more spiritual, enlightened, overall better, however they may define it, as white magic.
Some may or may not include 'grey' magic, something which may have aspects of both beneficial and baneful intent.
Really, it is up to the practitioner and that person's own tradition. I'd suggest, if you are not following a particular tradition or system, to carefully consider your workings against your own moral code and ethical standards.

If you had done a working to gain the affections of that girl, the dream may have been related. If you had not, then the dream is related to your obsession, and not to any spell which you had done.
Having dreams of being a demon is odd because the higher self can be called "Daemon". In Babylonian mythology the demon lord Kingu's blood is mix to make Humans. From that I believe everyone would have Daemon buried deep into the subconscious and in the aspects of the soul. I myself always had those type of dreams being triggered with my practices.
As for White and Black magick you can debate what it actual means I like how Michael W.Ford quote of what Black magick is:
