OBE's In Science

I've been away from the site for a good time now, but now that I'm back, I have a matter in my head. What do you think about the scientific meanings of Astral Projection and Out of Body Experiences? Do you believe they are correct? Why? I think this can be a controversial thread, but may be interesting too.

I think that the scientific claims concerning OBE are accurate, but to a degree.

If I understand it, science claims OBE's are imaginary phenomena made by our brain like dreaming. So to them an OBE isn't leaving the body but brain activity. Science is also making progress by monitoring and showing thoughts can do more than just happen, even outside of our body. Only progress can show people, including scientists, their thinking is incorrect. One problem is how to accurately judge OBE's anyway? It'll always be based on what the person experienced then being interpreted by someone or something else. Brain activity and the environment the body is in ignores any other factors. Science doesn't understand that experiences, spiritual or not, can't fit into a perfectly labeled or defined box.

Science is a process, not a person.

There have been tests concerning OBE's, most of which were proven unsuccessful, that is, or refuted by already known methods or induced as to make a very similar experience. The ones that do show what could be an OBE are inconclusive or shamed by other members of the science group studying the same aspects. I do believe myselfOBE's are real and possible, but I don't think all of the researches are really incorrect, or maybe they just chose the "wrong" kind of people to do their tests.

And Uchuuko, it is accurate to what degree? Also, when Flite Phantom says "science" and refers to "them" he means all researches on the topic and their researches, I believe. But that was a bit obvious.

@Facting: What I meant was that not all of the things that many people are experiencing and claiming to be OBEs are OBE's. Many of the 'faux OBEs' are due to other things that scientists have observed and used to conclude that these 'OBEs' turned out not to be OBEs, like the deactivation of certain brain parts combined with the activation of other brain parts (here is a link that such focuses on the subject of such a phenomenon, though it is not a scientific article): https://sploid.gizmodo.com/scientists-unlock-mystery-of-woman-who-sees-herself-out-1538196076

That said, I am open to the possibility of genuine OBEs.

Thank you Uchuuko, very interesting research. I guess that in her case it could be stated as an altered state of conscious? The phenomena may appear in other people, like it happened to her... I guess there could be more conclusive tests about this that are not being done, or if they are not correctly. I'll consider more of the matter by myself, thanksagain for the link.
