Unconventional Circles

What other kinds of circles do all ye draw? And if not a circle, any other kind of thing to circumvent energies and what not to create an ideal space and envirnment for the particular magic intended to take place?

I usually use a bit of salt, have music and imagine that as pushing other vibrations away that are just coming by or that just happen to be around(music or any kind of noise has always been comforting when I feel as the space has been populated with different spirits or energies)

Then as for cleansing, a kind of system that involves an open window and a fan. Blowing the smoke of sage or palo santo and etc., out with it once it's rinsed the room.

Most of the circle articles I ever see are the traditional wiccan ones, but what if some or most of the symbology and actions within that doesn't make sense for a particular ritual or whith whom you have a patron as, or which pantheon you work with?

This is a basic framework equation, so what do you plug into it?

I use different methods of circles for different purposes.

I can either cast a simple circle with just a wand or athame and keep my ingredients for the spell/ritual inside, or I cast a circle that's also associated with the spell.

For example:

If i'm casting a money spell, I coul cast a circle and inscribe the Fehu rune ( or any other symbol ) that represents money and do the spell. So not only using the ingredients but also the circle itself to boost even more the spell.

If working with elements I will try to complete the circle with the element i'm using at the moment ( of course If i'm only working with one and not all ).

For the element of Earth I would make the circle out of stones and keep little jars of dirt near it's edges. For fire, I would keep candles. For Air I would just use a normal circle and keep incense in the room or feathers. For water I would keep sea water near the edges as well.

I try to fuse the spell and the circle together for extra boosting. Not something you are obligated to do, but I find it really helpful!

I use 2 different circles in my rituals.

When it comes to spell casting I use 4 candles in each direction like North, East, South and West and I use the elements in each candle.

North: Earth

East: Air

South: Fire

West: Water

When I am done with the elements I balance them all through connecting each element to eachother which leads to a circle full of energy with protection.

I cleanse my room before any spell casting with sea salt mixed with water and spread it everywhere and I always get this clean feeling and that I can breath more clearly and which means that the circle and my spell casting won't have any affect of the energy I cleansed. Hope you understand what I mean.

My second circle is when I do the more negative rituals and invoking/evoking demons, yeah you name it.. the left hand path way.

I cleanse as always and put the candles in the same direction but when I am casting the circle I still use the elements but more in a demonic way and I have a black candle that represent Satan inside the circle because of balancing.

North: Earth - Belial.

East: Air - Lucifer

South: Fire - Flereous

West: Water - Leviathan.

But when I invoke all these demonic energies I stand up and point with my athame/finger/knife in the "sky" and draw ZD in front of me and when I draw I visualizing energy lines that creates the symbol and chant the demons enn 3 times. Every demon has their own specific enns and I repeat this for each demon in each element.

When I'm using the 5th element Spirit I invoke Satans energy (chanting his enn 3 times) that balances all these elements together and then I either do my spell casting that has an negative effect or as I usually do.. Invoking a specific demon.

Hello everyone!

Whenever I cast a circle, I usually play very relaxing music. The songs I listen to are usually 'Chill out bruh' by Don Papa, or 'Reckless' by Shamana.

This type of music really puts me in a strong meditive state, and my spells are always stronger when I'm listening to them. Does anyone else listen to music when they cast a circle? What else do you guys do when you cast?

This is a great topic! :)

One of the things I always do when I cast a circle is to have on chants or more often mantras going in the background. The specific mantra or chant I use depends on the intent for the circle and I will often chant along. I also like to turn down the lights a bit so it isn't so bright. I tend to set out crystals and stones and place them according to the intent of what the circle is for. I like getting incense going as well, normally nag champa as the scent holds special memories for me. I don't tend to use candles when casting a circle as I have cats and don't want them to mess with the candle while it is lit. I have other items I put out when casting to help define the circle's intent, like shed snake skin, bits of bones, shells, small statuettes, feathers, it all depends on the intent of why I cast the circle in the first place. I also have special jewelry I wear, like a ring from my maternal grandmother and one of my mother's, one on each hand, and I almsot always wear my bone mala around my neck which is dedicated to the Goddess I am devoted to. :)

~I am a bit late, forgive me. ~

Hello, Jaxies here!

When I circle cast I find myself putting on some chants maybe even fairy music that's really calm in the background I feel as if it helps me. I love having the space I am using dark-ish but not so dark maybe one light. Incense, Is one thing I use very often always gotta have them

This is pretty much all I do!

Blessed Be.
