Personally, I`ve always pronounced it how it looks, Sah-chi-el. (And I haven`t been yelled at for it) But the hebrew pronunciation is closer to Sah-seal, which is probably closer to being correct.

The name is three syllables.

You could pronounce the name "Sack-ee-el," though I'd round the A more like "ah," and I tend to use the throaty sound of CH (commonly described as the CH in loch, though most Americans will still pronounce it "lock").

The I will be the Latinized I, sounding like the two Es in peel. The E is basically what we call a short E, like the E in fell.

The CH is a hard sound; if you are an American think CK. But I imagine it has a throaty element sort of like the C is attempted but not stopped.
