i meant that charging them instead of life-giving would make it a sigil, rather than a rune. in my opinion, charging it is fine but unnecessary. the breath-giving is done through galdr, which is essentially a spell in and of itself in addition to the symbolism.

i see no issue to adding layers and what not to the work. going back to the hammer analogy, why not add that thing on the other side that pulls out nails? the issue i have is when people take away the fundamental parts.
