Finding a Path

I know a quite a bit of people follow a specific path or worship a specific god/goddess. I've been wanting to find someone to devote myself too but so far I haven't found anyone. If you find a path will it just feel a certain way? Does following a specific path or worshipping a specific god/goddess improve your ability to do magick?

Personally the path that I follow just feels "right" to me. I think some people benefit from following a path because then they have a deity/deities to focus on, so it's not that it will improve your casting it's just that it helps some people. We all have abilities and things we learn easier than others, if you feel you need a deity then ask around to see which ones there are, if not then don't sweat it.

Honestly, the answer isn't simple. It really depends on your particular style in performing magic. Some people petition spirits (anything that isn't physical such as gods, the dead, etc.) for help in completing a task. Others prefer to perform things with their own personal power. No way is "right," it's just different. (Nor or these really the only ways).

Most happen across the best path for them organically. Usually they read and talk to others. They develop their own views through research (empirical or book), and people, over time, happen upon something that just clicks. So yes, I agree, it will just "feels" right.

And, as I've said, time is a big factor in this. Honestly, the views are started out with are not the same as today. Just do you.

Well I can't speak for others. However, I can speak from my personal experience.

I saw little sign after sign, I kept ignoring and dismissing them. So they got more blatant. So I looked into it, reflected on it, connected with said god and knew it to be true.

I believe, agree with, and feel I have a great understanding for he whom I choose to worship. It opened my eyes and helped me through some stuff.

When I look back at things I feel that I see his influence and how long he has been there for me even before I had realized and it really trips me out.

Honestly, I have yet to even cast as spell or evoke purposely. I just want to make sure I get the basics down pat, before causing myself or anyone else harm. I also have yet to choose a path. But I like it this way. I think sometimes paths and god/goddesses worship is not for everyone. Again this is my opinion.
