Starting with chakras: being active in nature, meditating, energy manipulation, visualization: these will also help with your energy centers. Don't get too caught up on it. Just find a way to spend time outside. Have some regular exercise. Keep meditating daily, or as frequently as is feasible.
Incense comes down to preference. I personally prefer one or the other, but you may prefer something different, or even no incense at all.
Wormwood is one of the herbs which contains Thujone, a mild hallucinogen. It has a greater concentration than mugwort, and is the reason people have some vivid experiences drinking absinthe, and why both herbs are considered entheogenic.
At the very least, you'll have very vivid dreams depending on what exactly you do with it.
